Launch and practice at Blythe Park. End at McIntire Park Parctice, swim and camp on lawn area of Park. Scouts pay the Park 1/2 rate ($2/person {yr 2000}). There can be rapids 2 miles before McIntire if wind is against river flow. Accessible by road; RV camping also.

With an early launch, lunch can be in 10 miles at Cibola Farmers Bridge or Ox Bow (14.5 mi) - meets the road. On route, a take out at ox Bow Inlet is possible with a short portage. Walter's Camp (fee camp) has a good take out and supplies. Travellers must paddle back up the "Old River" 1/8 mi to reach Walter's Camp. (Gilmore's Camp is an additional 2 miles.)

1 1/2 miles downstream are the adobe ruins to the east. Supplies are available at Gilmore's Camp (2 mi). Overnight camping is prohibited for the next 11 miles after Gilmore. A locked gate is 1/2 mile beyond Carrizo camp with road access (a short portage). CAUTION: Motorboats and skiers are prevailent beyond this point!

(A Fee camp). Restrooms and supplies are available. Ferguson Lake is 3 miles before (camping, skiing and fishing). Martinez Lake resort is 1/2 Mile before (free shoreline camping). Road access is from the Arizona side.

Current slows, more paddling is required. Read caution notes on map, when approaching Imperial Dam. This is a fee campground. Acess is via S-24 from the I-8 (California) and US 95 (Arizona). Yuma is a short distance away (use care at night on the roads -- wild burros and deer share the highway).
