With an early launch, lunch can be in 10 miles at Cibola Farmers Bridge or Ox Bow (14.5 mi) - meets the road. On route, a take out at ox Bow Inlet is possible with a short portage. Walter's Camp (fee camp) has a good take out and supplies. Travellers must paddle back up the "Old River" 1/8 mi to reach Walter's Camp. (Gilmore's Camp is an additional 2 miles.) |

1 1/2 miles downstream are the adobe ruins to the east. Supplies are available at Gilmore's Camp (2 mi). Overnight camping is prohibited for the next 11 miles after Gilmore. A locked gate is 1/2 mile beyond Carrizo camp with road access (a short portage). CAUTION: Motorboats and skiers are prevailent beyond this point! |
